From T--, the RHTR founder:
"The inaugural Royal Hawaiian Tweed Ride was a smashing success. The tweed cyclists were admired by their Lycra and fixed gear counterparts. The weather was most cooperative, for the most part, and the company enjoyable...
At the Palace, tea was had, mustache biscuits were partaken, and good time was had by all. The Ride continued to the Olde Spaghetti Factorium where the awards were presented as follows:
The Dashingest Chapeau Award went to K-- for her floral safari adorned pith helmet.
The Marvelous Mustache Award went to J-- for his superbly groomed handlebar mustache.
The Hotsy Totsy Hosiery Award went to M-- for her wool knee-high harlequin socks held up with garters.
The Wilberforce Bertram "Bertie" Wooster Tweed Award went to T-- due to his wool tweed breeks.
Smashingest Tea Cup Award went to M-- for her mustachioed glass tea cup also adorned with a nose and spectacles.
Toasts were made, merriment followed, and there was much rejoicing. Thank you all very much and much appreciation is extended to the Tea Men for setting the ware at the Palace. Hear! Hear!"
