Right-O! The 2017 Royal Hawaiian Tweed Ride, a bi-annual bicycle ride and tea social for the Honolulu velocipedic community, shall be on Saturday, February 25th assembling at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon. All are cordially invited to join this genteel and casual ambulation - in high style - through Waikiki, Kapahulu, and Moiliili. The route will commence at the Dillingham Fountain, proceeded by a visit to the historic Queen Kapiolani Rose Garden, culminating with tea at The Lounge.
At The Lounge in Ala Wai Community Park indoor bicycle parking will be available. Tea will be provided by the ride; please bring your own tea cup, saucer, and spoon if you require one. A drawing of prizes will occur, to include the following: vintage Honolulu bicycles plates, tea, and more.
Time schedule:
This is a casual gathering and unsupported bicycle ride (riding at your own risk) with a route of approximately four miles primarily following established bike routes, lanes and paths along the Lei of Parks bikeway. Please ride responsibly; obey traffic laws; respect pedestrians and authorities. An effort to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is greatly appreciated.

- 1:00 o’clock – Assembly at the Louise Dillingham Memorial Fountain (at the foot of Kalakaua Avenue in Kapiolani Park)
- 1:30 o’clock – Depart
- Route stop at the Queen Kapiolani Garden (at Paki and Monsarrat Avenues) for a group photograph and demonstrations of Superfluous Saddling
- 2:30 o’clock – Arrive at The Lounge (Ala Wai Community Park, 2015 Kapiolani Boulevard)
- 4:00 o’clock – Fin
- Dashingest Dame, awarded to a well-dressed lady
- Smashingest Sir, awarded to a well-dressed gentleman
- Hotsy-Totsy Hosiery, awarded to an individual for their socks or stockings
- Superfluous Saddling, awarded to a cyclist for style in mounting or dismounting a bicycle
- Toppingest Tea Cup, awarded to a participant for their tea cup
- The Antiquaria Award, presented to a participant for use of olde tyme materials
